About Me

For my part, I travel not to go anywhere but to go.  I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move….

Who am I?

My name is Janet Webster and I live in the Yukon Territory in Northern Canada.  For the last twenty plus years I have spent the winters travelling usually in Asia where I was a consultant to International schools.  I have spent extended time in Southeast Asia but have also travelled in Africa, Europe and South America.  I retired in 2015 so I would have more time for travel.  I usually travel solo but enjoy the company of a friend whenever they are free to come with me.  I live in a log house at Lake Laberge fifty kilometres from Whitehorse, which is the capital of the Yukon. Through my windows I see nothing but lake, mountains and sky.  When the snow hits the top of the mountains, it is time for me to dig out my bag and look for a flight to somewhere (usually warmer). Oh, and bye the way, I am well into my senior years, hence the name of my blog, Silver Nomad, a nod to the colour of my hair.
